Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
Marion sits where Sturt Road meets Morphett Road and Diagonal Road, and most of Adelaide knows it for Westfield Marion and the aquatic centre next door. Step off those main roads and the suburb is quieter than its reputation: streets of cream and red brick homes from the 1950s and 60s, many on wide blocks that have since been cut in two for a pair of courtyard homes or a row of townhouses. Retirees of forty years live beside couples in a two-year-old build, and their rugs do very different jobs.
In the original brick homes the floors are often the first owner’s pine boards, uncovered during a renovation, or the carpet that replaced them in the 1980s. A rug sits under the lounge suite either way, and a runner usually covers the worn strip down the central passage. The infill townhouses are a different story: large-format tiles or a floating floor through an open-plan living area, one big machine-made rug to soften it, and a small one in the nursery or spare room. Most of what we see in Marion is polypropylene, polyester or a wool-look synthetic from the retailers at the Westfield, and all of those we clean in your home.
Living beside the shopping centre means a lot of coming and going, and the entry runner cops the grit from the driveway and the Sturt Road footpath. On the older boards, a rug that has not moved in years leaves a clean rectangle and a grey border where dust has worked through the weave. We also meet plenty of rugs that came with a downsizer from a bigger house and never quite fitted the new room, so they get walked across at an angle and wear a diagonal track. And with kids at home, cordial and texta on a cream rug are a weekly event.
A technician comes to you, moves the coffee table and cleans the rug on the floor it lives on, using hot water extraction that pulls the moisture straight back out so neither the boards nor the tiles under it stay wet. Grey dust borders respond to a thorough vacuum on both sides first, then the hot water pass. Diagonal wear tracks will not disappear, but the soil in them will, and the pile stands back up once the grime is out. A hallway runner up to 2 m² is $69, and if you have a second rug in the same visit it is 10% off. Allow 2–4 hours to dry; we will tell you if yours is a thick shag that wants longer.

Marion questions
Yes. We put a waterproof barrier between the rug and the carpet, keep the moisture low and extract thoroughly, then lift the rug so both dry properly. If you would rather, we can carry it to the garage floor or the driveway and clean it there, which is sometimes easier in a smaller townhouse.
It is the easiest fibre we clean. Polypropylene does not absorb liquid the way wool does, so most stains sit near the surface and lift well with hot water extraction. It also dries quickly, usually at the fast end of the 2–4 hour window.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
