Adelaide CBD · SA 5000
Apartments on Hutt Street, warehouse conversions in the East End and bluestone terraces around the south-east squares — in-home rug cleaning in the Adelaide CBD, carried up in the lift and cleaned on your floor. A medium rug up to 4 m² is $99.
Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
The CBD is Colonel Light’s grid with the Park Lands wrapped around it, and a growing number of people live inside it. Apartment towers along Hutt Street and the Franklin Street end, converted warehouses and lofts in the East End, student buildings off Hindley Street, and a pocket of nineteenth-century terraces and cottages around Hurtle Square and Whitmore Square. Hardly anyone has a lawn, a hose or a driveway, which is exactly why a rug service that works inside the apartment matters here.
City apartments are almost all hard floors: tiles or polished concrete through the living area, timber-look laminate or engineered boards in newer builds, with carpet often kept only for the bedrooms. A single rug under the couch does the work of softening the whole open-plan space, and in a studio it may be the only soft surface in the room. In the old terraces around the squares you find polished boards and a runner down a narrow hall. Most of what we see is polypropylene, polyester or a machine-made wool-look synthetic, which is what we clean; a hand-knotted piece from the antique shops on the eastern streets is one we would send to a specialist.
Living small means a rug cops everything. Takeaway from Gouger Street and the Central Market eaten on the couch, wine spilled on a Saturday night, coffee carried in from a Rundle Street café and set down in a hurry. Grit from the footpaths comes up in the lift on shoes and bike tyres and works into the pile at the door. Short-stay apartments turn over guests every few days and the rug goes grey in the middle long before anyone notices. Students in share apartments move out at the end of semester with a bond on the line and a rug that has not been cleaned since the lease began.
We bring the machine up in the lift, lay protection on the floor and clean the rug where it sits, so you never have to get it down to the car park or find somewhere to dry it. Hot water extraction pulls the dirty water straight back out, which is what makes drying indoors realistic: with a window cracked or the air conditioning running, most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours. For a building with set access hours we work 7 days, 7am–7pm, and can fit around a body corporate rule or a guest changeover. Light spots are included; we tell you before starting if a stain has already dyed the fibre. A second rug or a bathroom mat in the same visit is 10% off.

Adelaide CBD questions
Yes, that is the normal job in the city. We lay protective sheeting, clean the rug where it lies and extract the water as we go, so there is no soaked rug to carry anywhere. Leave a window open or run the air conditioning and it is walkable in a few hours.
We do. Tell us the checkout and check-in times and we will aim for a slot between them, with the rug dry before the next guest arrives. If you manage several apartments in one building, booking them for the same visit brings the price of every extra rug down by 10%.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
