Rug Stain Removal Adelaide

A stain on a rug is worse than one on carpet: it sits in the middle of the room, usually on the lighter colour, and you walk past it twenty times a day. Most come out. Some lighten. A few are permanent. The difference is what the stain is, how long it has been there, what has already been poured on it — and we tell you which bucket yours is in before you spend a dollar.

Stains we deal with every week

What we do differently

We identify the stain before we touch it, because the wrong product sets a stain for good. Protein stains get enzyme, tannins get an acidic rinse, grease gets a solvent spotter, and dyes get a reducing agent — each with a dwell time and a controlled rinse rather than a scrub. Then the whole rug is extraction cleaned, which matters: a treated spot on a dirty rug leaves a clean patch that looks worse than the stain did. Everything we use is rinsed back out, so there is no sticky residue to attract dirt to the same spot next month.

The honest part

Some marks are not stains. Bleach drops, nappy-rash cream, acne treatments and some cleaning sprays strip colour out of the fibre; no cleaning puts it back. Sun fade is the same. Old urine can permanently yellow a rug. And anything that has been scrubbed with a hot wet cloth may have spread and set. We look, we test a small area if needed, and we give you a plain answer: will come out, will improve, or will not change. Light spots are included in every clean; the heavy stain treatment is +$30 per rug and only charged when it is actually needed.

What to do before we arrive

Blot — do not rub — with a dry white towel. Do not pour on hot water, bleach, eucalyptus oil or the foam spray everyone has in the laundry; most of them make our job harder. If you know what it was and when it happened, tell us when you book. Then leave it alone.

Common questions

Rug stain removal — questions

Can you get red wine out of a rug?

Fresh red wine on a synthetic rug almost always comes out completely. Set-in wine, or wine that has been treated with salt or hot water, usually improves a great deal and sometimes disappears. On a pale cotton rug, expect lightening. We tell you which before we start.

Will a cleaned stain leave a lighter patch?

Not if the whole rug is cleaned at the same time, which is what we do. A spot treatment on an otherwise dirty rug is what leaves a clean halo. That is also why we do not do stain-only visits below the $89 minimum booking.

How much does rug stain removal cost in Adelaide?

The rug clean itself is priced by size — $69 for a runner, $139 for a 2 × 3 m rug — and light spots are included. Heavy stain treatment is +$30 per rug, pet urine and odour +$40, and we only add them if the rug needs them.
