Morphett Vale · SA 5162
One of the biggest suburbs in Adelaide by population, and most of it built between 1970 and 1995 — rug cleaning in your Morphett Vale home, with every price published up front.
Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
Morphett Vale was a farming town on the way to Willunga before the subdivisions arrived, and the old centre along Main South Road still shows it. Everything around that is the growth of the 1970s, 80s and 90s: brick-veneer family homes on quarter-acre and later smaller blocks, cul-de-sacs backing onto reserves, Southgate Plaza for the shopping, Wilfred Taylor Reserve for the dog. It is a suburb of long-term families, second owners renovating the house they grew up in, and plenty of rentals.
Floors in these homes have been through a cycle: wall-to-wall carpet when new, then tiles or floating boards through the living areas during a 2000s renovation, with carpet surviving in the bedrooms. So the lounge rug sits on hard floor now, usually an extra large machine-made piece sized to the three-seater and two recliners in a big family room. There is often a second rug in the formal lounge that nobody sits in, a runner in the entry, and a rubber-backed mat at every door. Shag rugs had a big run here in the late 2000s and plenty are still in service, flattened and grey.
Big households make for big rug problems. The family room rug is the dog bed, the homework desk and the Friday pizza table all at once, and a decade of that shows as a dark patch in front of the couch. Older shag rugs trap crumbs and hair so deep an ordinary vacuum never reaches them. Rental turnover brings rugs that smell of a previous tenant’s cat, and property managers want them sorted before the next inspection. And plenty of residents have paid for a cheap shampoo clean somewhere along the line that left the rug wet for two days and stiff with residue once it finally dried.
We do not shampoo. The hot water extraction machine sprays a low-residue cleaning solution into the pile and pulls it straight back out with the soil, so the rug is clean rather than coated and dries in 2–4 hours, with shag at the 4–6 hour end. Dark patches in front of the couch get pre-treated and worked with extra passes. Cat urine gets the enzyme pet treatment at +$40, which breaks the odour down instead of masking it. An extra large rug, say 2.4 × 3.4 m, is $179, and every additional rug in the same visit is 10% off, which suits houses that have three or four.

Morphett Vale questions
Usually to a good degree. We vacuum it from the back to shake out years of crumbs, then clean it with hot water extraction and groom the pile while it is damp so the strands separate. Shag holds more water, so allow 4–6 hours to dry. Pile that has been crushed under furniture for years may stay partly flattened.
Yes. Book us for the day before the inspection, we clean every rug in the house in one visit, and you have a straightforward invoice to hand the property manager. If a rug has pet odour we treat that too. We will be honest if a stain has permanently dyed the fibre so there are no surprises on the day.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
