Local service
Hyde Park is the strip of leafy streets around King William Road, with Unley on one side, Unley Park on the other, Walford school on its edge and Heywood Park just over the border. The shopping strip gives it a café-and-boutique rhythm, and the streets behind are quietly expensive: sandstone-fronted villas, Federation and bungalow-era homes on good blocks, a few interwar flats converted into apartments, and new builds designed to sit politely between the old ones.
Floors in Hyde Park villas are polished boards through the original rooms and tiles or polished concrete in the rear extension where the kitchen and living area usually are. The front rooms are where the serious rugs live, and some of those are hand-knotted wool or Persian pieces we do not clean; we will tell you so plainly and suggest a specialist. The living extension is a different story: a large machine-made rug under a sectional, often oversized, a runner in the long passage, and cotton or synthetic rugs in children’s bedrooms upstairs or in the attic conversion. Many homes also have an outdoor rug under the alfresco roof.
Living next to a café strip means a lot of people through the house. Friends dropping in after brunch on King William Road, kids back from Walford and Heywood Park with grass on their shoes, and the dog who went on every one of those trips all end up on the living-room rug. Pale rugs are popular in these renovations and they show every coffee ring and red wine spill. A rug in a south-facing front room can smell musty by the end of a wet winter. And a very large extension rug is too heavy to move, so it never gets more than a vacuum.
An extension rug too big to move is the job we are set up for: we clean it exactly where it lies, under the sectional if need be, with hot water extraction that pulls the water straight back out so concrete and boards stay dry. Anything over 12 m² is quoted at about $18 per square metre, and we give you that figure before we come. Coffee and wine marks that have set are treated with the heavy stain treatment at +$30, and light spots are included. We will say up front if a stain has permanently dyed a pale fibre. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours; book a morning slot and the room is back together for the evening.

Hyde Park questions
No. We work around the furniture, sliding lighter pieces aside and cleaning under the edges of the heavy ones, and a rug that size is quoted by the square metre before we arrive. Drying is a little longer under a couch, so we leave the room with air moving through it.
As soon as practical. Blot it with a clean towel and cold water, do not scrub, and book us for the same or next day. Fresh wine on a synthetic rug usually lifts fully with the heavy stain treatment; wine that has dried for weeks is more likely to have dyed the fibre, and we will tell you before starting.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
