Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
Hackham, with Hackham West alongside it, is one of the south’s more affordable pockets: former Housing Trust homes from the 1960s and 70s, brick-veneer family houses from the 80s and 90s, and a mix of owner-occupiers who have been here for decades and renters who stay a lease or two. The Onkaparinga River and its reserves run along the eastern side, and Main South Road and the Expressway carry everyone north to work. It is a practical suburb, and people want practical cleaning at a published price.
A lot of Hackham homes still have carpet in the living areas, with a rug on top to hide the worn bit in front of the couch, which makes the rug a hard-working item. Others have gone to cheap laminate or tiles, and the rug stops the room echoing. Rentals come furnished with whatever the last tenant left behind or the landlord picked up on sale: a polypropylene lounge rug, a bath mat with rubber backing, a kids’ rug with roads printed on it. Owner-occupiers often have a decent extra large rug in the family room and a runner in the hall. We clean all of those in your home.
Bond cleans are the big one. A tenant moving out of a Hackham rental has a list from the agent, and the rug is usually on it, often with a stain from a dropped pot of something and a smell from a pet that was never declared. Rugs sitting on carpet trap moisture between the two layers, so a spill that was never dried properly leaves a musty ring. Kids and dogs do what they do everywhere, but on a tight budget the cleaning gets put off until the rug is genuinely grey. And a rug bought cheap tends to have a thin backing that shows every mark on the floor beneath.
We come on the day that suits the lease, clean the rug where it lies or out on the driveway, and leave it dry enough for an inspection the same afternoon, usually within 2–4 hours. For a rug on carpet we put a barrier down, clean with low moisture and lift it afterwards so both layers dry. Undeclared pets get the enzyme treatment and an honest word about whether the smell will go. There are no surprises on price: a runner or small rug is $69, and every extra rug in the same visit is 10% off, so doing the whole house at once makes sense. If a rug is beyond saving we will say so before you pay for it.

Hackham questions
Yes, you get an itemised invoice naming each rug and the treatments done, which is what property managers want to see. We can also photograph the rugs before and after if you want evidence for the bond. If a stain will not lift we note that on the invoice honestly.
Yes, the minimum booking is $89, so a single runner at $69 would come up to that. The practical fix is to add a bath mat or a bedroom rug to the same visit, which brings you over the minimum anyway and gets the second one at 10% off. We will set that out plainly when you book so nothing is a surprise.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
