Golden Grove · SA 5125
Two-storey family homes in the 1990s estates below Cobbler Creek — in-home rug cleaning in Golden Grove, with the playroom rug and the dog’s runner done in one visit.
Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
Golden Grove was master-planned and built through the late 1980s and 1990s on the slopes at the edge of the hills face, and it still reads as one coherent suburb: curving streets, reserves and linear parks, the schools precinct, Golden Grove Village and The Grove Way running through the middle. The homes are mostly larger brick family houses, a good share of them two-storey, on blocks big enough for a pool or a trampoline. Cobbler Creek Recreation Park sits along the northern edge, and the households are overwhelmingly families with school-age kids and a dog or two.
These homes were built with carpet upstairs and tiles or slate downstairs, and many have since gone to floating timber or hybrid planks through the living areas. The rugs follow the family: an extra large rug in the open-plan living room, a smaller synthetic rug in the rumpus or playroom, a runner in the entry hall, and often a rug in a home office. Kids’ rooms get the bright polyester rugs with roads or animals printed on them. Indoor-outdoor rugs under the alfresco furniture are common too. Every one of those is a synthetic or cotton piece we can clean in place or out on the paving.
A family with kids and a dog near Cobbler Creek generates a particular set of rug problems. Winter walks bring back mud and burrs on paws, and the entry runner shows it first. Playroom rugs get texta, playdough, juice and the odd upended bowl of cereal. Teenagers eat on the couch, so the lounge rug has corn-chip crumbs ground into it and the dark shadow of a spilled soft drink. Summer afternoons by the pool mean wet feet and sunscreen walking across the living room. And because the living area rug is large, it tends to get put off for years because nobody wants to lift it.
We clean the big living-room rug where it lies, moving the coffee table and working around the couch, and the extraction leaves the planks or tiles underneath dry. Playroom marks like texta and juice mostly lift with the standard clean. Once the rug is clean we recommend Scotchgard protection, which on an extra large rug is +$50 and makes the next spilled drink blot up instead of soaking in. Each additional rug in the visit is 10% off, so the runner and the kids’ rugs can be done at the same time. Rugs are dry in two to four hours, and a 2.4 × 3.4 m living room rug is $179.

Golden Grove questions
Generally, yes. Playdough comes out with the standard clean once it is softened, and most washable markers lift with hot water extraction. Permanent marker is a different story and we will tell you when we see it. For a rug that gets this treatment weekly, Scotchgard afterwards makes the next clean-up much easier.
Yes, we bring the hose up the stairs and clean rugs in bedrooms and the upstairs retreat where they lie. Carpet underneath stays dry with the low-moisture pass. If you would rather, we carry smaller rugs downstairs and do them all together on the alfresco paving.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
