Local service
Elizabeth was built by the Housing Trust from the mid-1950s as a new town for migrant workers, and that history is still written across its streets: double-brick and cream-brick Trust homes on wide blocks, grouped around small reserves and local shops, with Elizabeth City Centre and the interchange in the middle. Many of those homes are now private rentals or have been bought and renovated; others are still Housing SA tenancies. It is a suburb of long-term residents, young families stretching a budget, and landlords with a lot of tenants moving through.
The original Trust homes have hardwood floors under decades of carpet and lino, and renovators who have pulled those up tend to polish the boards and lay a large rug in the lounge. In the rentals the floors are more often cheap laminate or tiles, with a chain-store polypropylene rug doing the work in the living room and a kids’ rug in a bedroom. Shag rugs are popular with younger tenants. Hallway runners are rarer here because the Trust layouts have short passages. These are all synthetic, machine-made rugs, which is what we clean in your home, on the boards, on the laminate or out on the front lawn.
Rugs in Elizabeth rentals carry whatever the last tenant left behind: cigarette smell, dog hair, the dark patch where a couch sat for years. Big families on tight budgets keep a rug going long after it has absorbed juice, food and the occasional vomit from a sick kid. Dogs are common and the backyard is often dirt rather than lawn in a dry summer, so paw prints track straight across the lounge. Bond inspections are the pressure point: the agent wants the rug clean, and the tenant wants it done cheaply and quickly without being told afterwards what could not be fixed.
We are straightforward about what a clean will and will not do, and we tell you before we start, not after. A rug that just needs a proper deep clean gets our hot water extraction pass, which lifts dust, hair and the general grey from the pile and leaves the floor under it dry. Pet smells get the enzyme treatment at +$40. Shag rugs take longer to dry, four to six hours, so we book those early in the day. Our minimum booking is $89, which covers a single lounge rug, and if the rug is too far gone to be worth the money we will say so.

Elizabeth questions
Check your lease and your entry condition report. If the rug was listed as clean when you moved in, the agent will usually expect it clean on exit. We clean it where it lies, treat the marks, and give you a dry rug the same day for the final inspection.
A hot water extraction removes a good part of smoke residue from the fibre, and the sanitise and deodorise add-on helps with the rest. If smoke has soaked into the backing over many years some smell can remain, and we will tell you that honestly when we see the rug.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
