Local service
Andrews Farm has grown out of paddocks over the past twenty-five years into a suburb of new and near-new homes, and it is still filling in. Curtis Road and Stebonheath Road frame it, the community centre and the reserves give it a middle, and the streets are lined with single-storey brick homes on slab, double garages at the front and a patch of lawn at the back. It is a first-home-buyer suburb: young couples who have just built, families with babies and toddlers, and a lot of investor-owned houses with tenants moving through.
Every house here is on a slab with large-format tiles or hybrid planks through the entry, kitchen and open-plan living, and carpet in the bedrooms and theatre room. The rug in the living room is almost always a big one, because the room is wide and the couch is a modular, so extra large 2.4 × 3.4 m rugs are common. Nurseries and kids’ rooms have soft polyester or shag rugs, and the alfresco often has an indoor-outdoor rug under the outdoor setting. Most were bought new with the house and are synthetic, machine-made pieces, which is exactly what we clean in place.
A new rug on a new slab in a new house is usually clean for about a year, and then the toddler arrives. Milk, formula and purée end up on the living room rug, and the pale colours chosen to match the render show every mark. Puppies bought for the new backyard have accidents inside before they are trained. Out here the summer dust comes straight off the surrounding open ground and in through the alfresco doors, settling into shag pile especially. Tenants in investor homes often leave a rug that has never seen a cleaner, and the property manager flags it at the exit inspection.
The living room rug stays where it is; we move the coffee table, run the hot water extraction pass over the whole rug and treat the baby and toddler marks as part of the standard clean, leaving the tiles or planks underneath dry. Puppy accidents get the enzyme treatment. Because so many Andrews Farm rugs are light-coloured and new, we recommend Scotchgard protection once the rug is clean, +$30 on a runner to large rug, so the next spill beads on the surface. Shag nursery rugs take four to six hours to dry, so we book those first thing. A 2.4 × 3.4 m rug is $179.

Andrews Farm questions
Clean it first, then protect it. Scotchgard applied after the clean puts a barrier on the fibre, so milk and juice sit on the surface long enough to blot up instead of soaking in. It is not bulletproof, but it buys you time, and it makes the next clean much more effective.
Yes, you get an invoice that lists each rug cleaned and the date, which is what most agents want to see. We clean the rugs where they lie, treat any marks, and leave them dry within a few hours of a morning booking.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
