Aldinga Beach · SA 5173
Cars on the sand, a scrub reserve full of birds and a wave of new homes behind the dunes — in-home rug cleaning for Aldinga Beach, with the price agreed before we start.
Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.
Local service
Aldinga Beach is where the metro area runs out. The beach is one of the few in South Australia you can still drive on, the Aldinga Scrub Conservation Park sits behind the dunes, and the suburb itself has grown from a scattering of holiday shacks into streets of 2000s and 2010s homes along Aldinga Beach Road and out toward Port Willunga. Sea-changers and retirees share it with young families priced out of the inner south, plus a healthy number of holiday homes and Airbnbs that fill every summer and over the McLaren Vale wine weekends.
New estate homes here are slab-on-ground with large tiles or hybrid plank floors throughout, so a rug does the warming and softening in every living area. A large or oversized rug under the sectional lounge is the norm, with a runner in the hallway and a playroom rug for the kids. Older shacks that are still standing have painted boards or lino and a cheerful cotton flatweave or two. Holiday homes lean toward indoor-outdoor rugs that can be hosed, and most have an outdoor rug on the deck. Nearly everything is polypropylene, polyester or cotton, all of which we clean in place.
Sand gets into Aldinga Beach rugs in quantities people elsewhere do not believe, because cars drive onto the sand and the sand drives home. It sinks to the base of the pile and the rug grows heavy and scratchy. Red wine from a cellar-door afternoon is the other local signature, usually on a pale rug in a holiday house, found the following Friday by the next guests. Beach dogs are everywhere and bring sand, salt and the occasional accident. Winter brings a different issue: holiday homes shut up for months develop a musty, closed-house smell in every soft furnishing, the rug most of all.
We dry vacuum from the back first so the sand drops out, then clean with hot water extraction that pulls the moisture straight back out of the pile and off the tiles beneath. Wine is pre-treated before the main pass; light spots are included and we will tell you honestly if a stain has set in the fibre before any money changes hands. Holiday home owners can book us for a changeover morning and have every rug dry by check-in. A 3 × 4 m oversized rug, common in these open-plan builds, is $219, and the minimum booking is $89. Dry in 2–4 hours with the doors open to the sea breeze.

Aldinga Beach questions
Often. Polyester and polypropylene do not absorb dye the way wool does, so even dried wine usually lifts with a pre-treatment and hot water extraction. We assess it first and tell you what we expect before we start; if it has set permanently we will say so rather than charge you to find out.
A lot more than a household vacuum. Vacuuming from the back lets sand fall out of the base of the pile where it collects, and the extraction pass flushes out what is left. You will usually see it in the recovery tank. For a shag rug near the beach we repeat the dry pass several times before any water goes near it.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
