Local service
Walkerville is a small, old suburb tucked between the Torrens and the city’s northern Park Lands, with Linear Park running along its river edge and Walkerville Terrace as its main street. The housing is a layered mix: substantial Victorian and Federation homes on large blocks, interwar bungalows on the side streets, 1960s and 70s unit groups along the terrace, and a steady trickle of new townhouses where an old block has been split.
In the older houses you walk in onto polished boards or an original tiled vestibule, through to a kitchen and living area that has usually been extended out the back onto a slab with tiles or engineered timber. Rugs are the standard answer to hard floors: a large machine-made rug in the family room, a runner where the hall meets the back extension, and often a cotton or synthetic rug on the floor of a kids’ room upstairs. The 1960s units have tiles or vinyl in the living area with a rug on top. Walkerville has its share of inherited wool and Oriental pieces, and those we send to a specialist laundry rather than pretend.
Living beside Linear Park means dogs, and dogs mean a river’s worth of mud and hair on the rug by the back door after a winter walk along the Torrens. Kids ride bikes along the river path and bring grass and grit indoors on their shoes. Frequent entertaining leaves the lounge rug with wine rings and the general grey that builds up over two or three winters. A puppy that was never quite house-trained leaves a smell in a rug that seems to come back every humid day. In the units, a renter heading to a new place needs the landlord’s rug looking presentable before the inspection.
We bring everything to your door and clean the rug on your floor, or on the back paving if you would rather keep the wet work outside. For dog mess, the pet urine and odour treatment at +$40 uses enzymes that break the urine down before we extract it, rather than sitting a fragrance on top. Mud and grass lift with a pre-spray and a thorough extraction pass, and the boards or tiles underneath are dry when we lift the edge to check. Most rugs are walkable in 2–4 hours; a thick shag may take 4–6. An extra large rug up to 9 m² is $179, with our prices published so there is nothing to negotiate at the door.

Walkerville questions
Yes. Mud and wet-dog smell respond well to a pre-spray and hot water extraction, and if there is any urine in the mix we add the enzyme treatment. We will tell you on the day if the smell has gone through to the backing, which changes what you can expect.
We can. Book a slot a day or two before the inspection so the rug is dry and settled, and we will treat spots and traffic marks in place. If a stain has permanently dyed the fibre we will say so before starting, so you know what to expect from the property manager.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
