Aberfoyle Park · SA 5159
Brick-veneer family homes from the 1980s and 90s around The Hub, with a dog in most yards and a trampoline in plenty — in-home rug cleaning in Aberfoyle Park for the rugs the kids and pets live on.
Grit, stains and pet smells — lifted out of the rug, not covered up.

Aberfoyle Park was farmland and then a planned suburb, laid out in the late 1970s and built through the 80s and 90s with The Hub shopping centre at its middle and Happy Valley Reservoir off to one side. The streets curl into cul-de-sacs and courts on the foothills, and the houses are mostly single-storey brick veneer on big blocks, with a pergola, a shed and a lawn that turns to red mud in June. It has always been a kids-and-dogs suburb.
The typical Aberfoyle Park home has had its 1980s carpet replaced in the living areas with tiles or floating boards during a kitchen renovation, with carpet kept in the bedrooms and the formal lounge. The family room rug is the biggest in the house, a large or extra large synthetic under the couch where the dog sleeps and the kids build Lego. Then there is a bright playroom rug, a runner in the hall from the front door, and a rubber-backed mat at the sliding door to the pergola. Shag rugs from the 2000s are still common in teenagers’ rooms. All of it is the polypropylene and polyester we clean in your home.
Foothills clay is the signature here. When it rains the backyard turns to orange mud, and dogs and children carry it straight across the mat and onto the family room rug. In summer the same soil arrives as fine red dust that settles into the pile and makes a pale rug look dirty a week after vacuuming. Dogs that have grown up on the rug leave hair, odour and the occasional puddle, and puppies especially test the enzyme treatment. Kids bring the usual: slime, texta, hot chocolate, playdough pressed into the pile.
We clean the rug on the family room floor with hot water extraction, after a thorough dry vacuum from both sides to get the red dust out before it turns to mud in the pile. Clay stains pre-treat well, and a fresh puppy accident is handled with the pet urine and odour treatment at +$40, which breaks the urine down rather than masking it; heavy saturation costs more and we will tell you first. Playroom rugs often have several different stains and we go through them one at a time. A 2 × 3 m lounge rug is $139 and the kids’ rug alongside it gets 10% off. Rugs are dry in 2–4 hours, shag a little longer.

Aberfoyle Park questions
Yes, when it is caught in the pile and backing rather than soaked into the floor underneath. The enzyme treatment digests the urine salts that cause the smell, and extraction then flushes them out. If the puppy has been going in the same spot for months, expect the heavy treatment and an honest view on the result.
Most of the time. Clay is a particulate, not a dye, so it sits in and around the fibres rather than colouring them. The key is removing it dry first and then extracting, instead of wetting it and spreading it. On a cream polypropylene rug the result is usually a clear improvement; very fine iron-rich soil can leave a faint tint and we will show you if so.
How it works
We read the label or test the fibre, check the backing, the stains and the smell, and tell you honestly what will lift — and whether it is a rug we should be cleaning at all.
Grit sits at the base of the pile and grinds the fibres every time you walk on it. A slow vacuum, both sides, gets it out before anything gets wet.
A pre-spray for the traffic lanes, enzyme for pet urine and organic stains, targeted treatment for wine, coffee and ink.
Heated solution in, dirt and water straight back out in the same pass. Low moisture, so the floor underneath stays dry.
Optional sanitiser or Scotchgard, then we groom the pile so it dries evenly. Most rugs are dry in 2–4 hours.
Questions
We price by the size of the rug. A runner or small rug up to 2 m² is $69, a medium rug (2–4 m²) $99, a large 2 × 3 m lounge rug $139, an extra large rug (6.5–9 m²) $179 and an oversized 3 × 4 m rug $219. Pet urine treatment, heavy stains, Scotchgard and sanitising are optional add-ons from $20–$40, all on our price table. The minimum booking is $89, every rug after the first in the same visit is 10% off, and the price is confirmed before we start.
In your home. We bring a hot water extraction machine to you and clean the rug where it lies, or on a tiled floor, verandah or driveway if you prefer. There is no pick-up, no wash plant and no week without your rug — it is back in use the same day.
Synthetic rugs (polypropylene, polyester, nylon, acrylic), machine-made wool-look rugs, cotton flatweaves, shag and high-pile synthetic rugs, kids’ rugs, hallway runners, outdoor rugs and rubber-backed mats. We do not clean wool, hand-knotted Persian or Oriental, silk, viscose, jute, sisal, sheepskin or cowhide rugs — those need a specialist rug laundry, and we will tell you so rather than risk your rug.
Most synthetic rugs are dry to the touch in 2–4 hours, thick shag and cotton closer to 4–6. We extract as much water as the machine will pull, groom the pile, and tell you how to speed it up — lift one edge onto a chair for airflow underneath, a fan across the surface, and no furniture back on it until it is fully dry. Book a morning slot and you are walking on it that evening.
A 2 × 3 m rug is $139 in Adelaide, cleaned in your home. 7 days a week.
